Get Licensed in Marin County
To get married in Tiburon, you’ll first need to get a marriage license from Marin County. Apply together and in-person at the Marin County Clerk at 3501 Civic Center Dr, Room 234, in San Rafael, California. Bring valid picture identification and a license fee of $85. The marriage license will be issued immediately and remain valid for 90 days before expiration. Changing your legal name? Make sure your decision is made before applying for the license. Visit Marin County's website for more information.
Find the Perfect Wedding Officiant
After the license is issued you may be married by a priest, rabbi, minister or other authorized person of your choice. The Marin County Clerk’s office offers a special opportunity to have a friend or family member (18+) appointed to perform your marriage ceremony. Have your deputized officiant apply in person at the County Clerk’s Office and bring a $60 application fee. The person who performs the ceremony will return the certificate to the Marin County Recorder’s Office after the wedding, where you can also obtain your personal copy.
